Congradulations America Your Worse Than Russia, 34 Convicted of Free Speech

34 People have been tried and convicted for exercising their first amendent rights to free speech. They were protesting and calling for the closure of the Guantanamo Bay prison, a facility which on every level is in complete violation of the Geneva Convention and international law. Of all places, they were arrested in front of the US Supreme Justice Court Buildings. Many were incredulous that this has happened, and they will soon be sentenced:

Judge Wendell Gardner will sentence the defendants tomorrow (Friday, May 30),
in D.C. Superior Court (courtroom 218, 500 Indiana Ave),
and has indicated that some are likely to receive prison sentences.

Its apparent that we are no longer a free nation. We have realised that.

The reason that this is happening is because after 9/11, the American public decided to give up some of their freedoms to combat terrorism.
